The idea of "being together in the same boat" has contributed to the development of team building in dragon boat: this activity gathers more and more followers as a means of aggregation through sport to strengthen the team and to reach greater collaboration and efficiency among staff members.
The discipline of the Dragon Boat goes back over 2000 years ago when the Chinese poet and statesman Qu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Lo River in protest against the harassment of the government of the day. Since 1976 the Hong Kong Tourist Association has launched this traditional activity as a worldwide sport.
The program begins at 9:00 am at Terminal Tronchetto (Venice), where a Venice Work Sailing representative will welcome the participants and transport them by motorboat to the Nautical Club where the "Dragon Boat" are located.
Here there will be a 15 min. briefing to explain the route and technique of use of the canoe Dragon Boat. In the Dragon Boat will be located, in addition to participants, a helmsman and a drummer that marks the time of rowing.
People start to row, equipped with life jackets and paddles, to prepare for the challenge with a training time depending on the number of the participating teams, consisting of a minimum of 14 to a maximum of 16 persons per canoe.
The competition involves the simultaneous participation of a maximum of 4 teams that compete over a distance of 200 meters. All races will be timed and shooting. At the end of the challenges, which will be more than one, a temporary or permanent ranking will be shown, depending on the number of races that the crews decide to do. A final between the best times can be also undertaken, if the participants are numerous.
At the end of the event, corporate awards ceremony for the winner team with trophies and medals f and a toast all together. Optional: lunch or refreshments in Venice
